Kevin McMullin is the President of Collegewise, a college admissions counseling company that he founded in 1999 using his last paycheck from his previous job. Today, with offices in Southern California, New York, New Jersey and Washington State, Collegewise has helped over 3000 students find, apply to, and attend the right colleges.  He also writes a daily college admissions blog and is the author of Story Finders: How Counselors and Teachers Can Help Students Write Better College Essays (without Helping Too Much).  His next book, a guide to college admissions for students and parents, will be published in the spring of 2012.

Kevin is also a popular public speaker and has given over 500 presentations at high schools and conferences to discuss smarter, saner college admissions planning.  As long as the speeches don’t involve Kevin doing any math problems, he always does a bang-up job. A 1994 graduate of UC Irvine with majors in English and history (where he answered the question, “What are you going to do with THOSE majors?” approximately 783 times), Kevin also earned his college admissions counseling certification from UCLA.
