where she also spent three years working in the admissions office. Not that we needed to be convinced, but when Colgate’s dean of admission later wrote us a letter telling us that we would be absolutely crazy not to hire Katie, well, that was good enough for us.She began her Collegewise career as a college counselor in our Irvine, California office during which time Katie also earned her certification in college admissions counseling from UCLA. She then relocated to Seattle and spent two years as the Director of Outreach for The Princeton Review before opening Collegewise--Northwest in April 2009. Katie is a frequent guest-speaker at Seattle-area high schools on the subject of college admissions and testing, and has personally helped over 150 students apply and get accepted to the right colleges. She is a proud grammar snob, a former collegiate softball pitcher, a Colorado Rockies fan, an aunt, and the owner of a cat (Hamilton) whom a veterinarian diagnosed as “morbidly obese.” Katie maintains that he (the cat, not the vet) is merely big-boned, though she did agree to switch him to diet cat food as a precautionary measure.
